South Park 1 - 3 Chipstead

South Park will rue the missed chances in the first half with the turning point of this game coming on the hour with a highly contentious sending off of Adam Pullin for supposedly denying a goal scoring opportunity from outside of the penalty box with two covering defenders!!!

Pullin attacking down the right got to the bye line and pulled the ball back to Moody who shot over the bar from 20 yards. Thomas in the Park goal made an excellent save from a close range shot from Tait, Mazzone’s left foot shot was saved by Pain moments before Gallagher burst clear of the Chipstead defence but his left foot shot went past the far post. Jackson’s cross from the right was met by Mazzone at full stretch who lifted his shot over Pain and the cross bar. Moody struck a left volley over the bar and Mazzone’s through ball found Smith who chipped the advancing Pain but his effort hit the post and was cleared.

Chipstead should have broken the deadlock in the 54th minute when Bell’s cross from the right was met by Tait at the far post but Thomas somehow kept out Tait’s close range effort. A miskick from Thomas in the Park goal allowed Lalor–Dell to run clear as Pullin’s sliding tackle brought down the Chipstead winger outside of the Park area and left of centre, despite Park having two covering defenders the referee sent Pullin off. From the free kick from 25 yards Adaje scored. Five minute later Adaje scored his and Chipstead’s second as he beat Thomas with a shot from 16 yards. Mazzone had an effort pushed away by Pain and Jackson shot over the bar form Mazzone’s pull back. Bell should have wrapped things up for Chipstead but somehow he shot over the bar from just a yard out. Jackson’s goal bound shot was deflected for a corner. Lovegrove’s corner from the right was met by Jackson who powered his header into the roof of the net. Park’s joy was short lived as Bell converted a left wing cross from 10 yards to restore Chipstead’s two goal advantage. Smith was clean through on goal when the referee made the inexplicable decision to stop play and award a penalty in the 87th minute however Smith’s spot kick was saved by Pain.

Park have successive away games this week at Ashford Utd on Tuesday in the league and Brentwood Town on Saturday in the Preliminary Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy.
