South Park fought back from 2-0 down to claim a point with two late second half goals from Joe Jackson and Chris Smith.
Lavery cut in from the left but dragged his shot wide of the post. Campbell fired over for Hythe whilst Jack Mazzone’s shot was pushed away by Godmon in the Hythe goal. Josh Gallagher’s through ball almost sent Smith through however the ball clipped the heel of the Park forward and Hythe cleared the danger. Kieran Lavery and Mazzone combined for the former’s shot to be blocked by Godmon. Campbell pouncing on a lapse in the Park defence shot over the bar from 20 yards. Hythe broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Aboagye’s cut back from the bye line found Grant who scored from close range. Adam Pullin was on hand to head away a dangerous looking cross whilst at the other end Smith’s shot was pushed away by Godmon.
Hythe doubled their lead in the 48th minute when Johnson-Palmer’s through ball found Dos Santos in space and the Hythe forward’s shot beat Callum Thomas from 18 yards. Lavery produced a finger tip save from Godmon to keep out his free kick from 20 yards. Chris Smith ran onto a through ball from Mazzone but shot over the bar. Park pulled a goal back in the 70th minute when Pullin overlapping down the right crossed for Joe Jackson to head home from 6 yards. A Hythe break away saw Johnson shoot over the bar. Palmer wasted a glorious opportunity for Hythe when he shot wide from 12 yards. With three minutes remaining on the clock Adebayo found Smith on the angle of the box and the Park forward’s shot hit the far post and Godmon in the Hythe goal could not prevent the ball from crossing the line. Park went in search of the winner and Smith had another shot blocked. In stoppage time Jackson got the better of Cook but as Godmon came off his line he lifted his shot over the keeper but it went the wrong side of the upright. From Lovegrove’s deep cross Jackson’s header was cleared off the line as both sides had to settle for a point.

Speaking after the match South Park FC 1st Team Manager had mixed emotions, “I think it shows what great character we have in the squad to be able to score two late goals against a play-off calibre side such as Hythe, I was particularly pleased with the positive impact all three subs made as they all contributed to getting us back in the game. Obviously I was disappointed to be 2 down to start with but that was the situation we found ourselves in, so all in all I am delighted that we were able to turn the game around and we even had two chances right at the end to get all three points!”
