South Park suffered their second defeat of the season losing by a goal scored with the aid of a deflection that beat Michael Eacott in the Park goal.
Uxbridge started the brighter and forced Alexiou to block a long range shot. Uxbridge keeper McCarthy pushed a shot from Males behind for corner. At the other end Hill blocked a hot on the line and Eacott then parried the follow up as the visitors tried to break the deadlock. Richardson’s cross form the left found Greenleaf who dragged his shot past the far post. A defensive mix up allowed Maguire to pick up the ball 30 yards from goal, He drove forward and his shot from 20 yards to a wicked deflection to give Eacott no chance and put Uxbridge one up. Healy was brought down 25 yards form goal. Males free kick was wide of the post. Nicholas found space on the edge of the area but his shot flew narrowly past the post. Testolin shot wide for Uxbridge when in a good position and Sinclair shot over the bar.
In the opening minute of the second half Eacott pushed a way a shot from Warner. Richardson’s cross from the left looked to have picked out Williams-Bowers at the far post however the faintest of touches from Thompson cleared the danger. Alexiou had a shot blocked before Leslie’s cross form the right was scrambled clear by the Uxbridge defence. Males blocked Wiseman’s far post header to keep Park in the game. A ball inside the full back from Castanho picked out Leslie who stayed on his feet despite the attempts of Thompson to bring him down and moved into the area. McCarthy rushed off his line and got enough on the shot to deflect the ball wide. From the corner the Uxbridge defence eventually scrambled the ball clear.
On Saturday Park are in Emirates FA Cup action away at East Grinstead Town. Please note that if the game is drawn the replay will be on Tuesday 4th September. On Bank Holiday Monday we are away at Molesey.
