South Park ended their run of four successive home league defeats with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Walton Casuals.

Park almost broke the deadlock in the third minute when Lavery’s free kick form 22 yards beat Gerrar in the Casuals goal but unfortunately for Park hit the post. Richardson-brown headed wide at the far post from a left wing cross for Casuals. Park responded and Lavery’s ball flashed across the six yard box inches away from Smith. The deadlock was finally broken in the 16th minute when after a free flowing move down the left Smith’s cross was met by Dan Moody who scored from 10 yards. Park’s joy was short lived as Tyrell Richardson-Brown levelled the score a minute later also getting on the end of a left wing cross. Olusanyi headed wide for Casuals as the half ended level.

Park should have regained the lead in the 52ndminute as Walton Casuals skipper Daryl Coleman was sent off for violent conduct and Park were awarded a penalty. However Chris Smith’s spot kick was saved by Denzel Gerrar diving to his left and the Lavery following up was unable to hit the target. Park began to make the extra man count and the game was now being mainly played in the Casuals half. A mix up between Gerrar and one of his defenders allowed Kieran Lavery to score from close range to put Park back in front in the 64thminute. McElligott’s cross form the right was headed behind his own goal for a corner byHicks from Which Casuals scrambled the ball clear. Park were reduced to ten men in the 78th minute when Lovegrove was sent off for a late challenge on Richardson-Brown. In stoppage time Jackson’s angled shot clipped the top of the bar.
