Ware 2 - 1 South Park

South Park will be disappointed that they came away from Ware pointless in their opening Bostik South Central fixture.

Mick Sullivan’s new look South Park side made a nervous start and it was the home side that created the first chance which forced Eacott in the Park goal to push away a long range shot. A free kick from 20 yards flew over the Park bar as Ware looked for an early goal. Ware almost broke the deadlock in the 13th minute when a right wing corner found Adu but his shot hit the post. Park got a foothold in the game around the fifteen minute mark and began to dominate possession whilst the home side were always a threat on the break. Park were happy to play out from the back, keeping possession but at times struggled to find a way through the solid Ware defence. A long range effort from Nicholas flew just over the Ware bar. Leslie receiving the ball wide on the right beat his marker and pulled the ball back to the edge of the area to Healy whose goal bound shot was deflected wide. The home side broke the deadlock on the stroke of half time. Adu’s shot was well saved by Eacott but the ball rebounded into the path of Njoya whose shot from a narrow angle found the back of the Park net despite the valiant attempts of the Park defence to keep the ball out of the net.

Eacott made an excellent save low to his right early in the second half to deny Ware a second goal. Park drew level in the 57th minute when Ramazani powered home a far post header from a right wing cross form Ashley. Park’s joy was short lived as a minute Ware regained the lead when Cowley scored after fine work from Adu. Izokun shot over the bar form the edge of the area and Healy had an effort blocked as Park went in search of the equaliser. Vlantislav coming out of his area sliced his clearance but the ball spun far enough wide of the goal to prevent Nicholas from shooting first time. When he was able to get the ball into the box the Ware defence managed to scramble the ball clear. Ware managed to deny Park and hold on to claim the three points.

Park are at home on Saturday when they entertain Uxbridge, 3.00 pm kick off.
