New 3G Development at South Park FC

South Park Football Club, in collaboration with the Football Foundation, Surrey County Football Association and Reigate and Banstead Council are pleased to announce the imminent approval to proceed with the construction of a 3G playing surface at the Whitehall Lane, Reigate sports facility.

South Park Football Club, in collaboration with the Football Foundation, Surrey County Football Association and Reigate and Banstead Council are pleased to announce the imminent approval to proceed with the construction of a 3G playing surface at the Whitehall Lane, Reigate sports facility.

Steve Robb (Treasurer of South Park Football Club) confirmed, ‘The partners in this process have been, instrumental in the funding, planning and approval for the project to proceed. Members of the club have worked tirelessly in recent years to reach this milestone. Planning has been secured, and the aim is to proceed with the project starting in August and completing by October.’

SIS UK (a nominated Football Foundation contractor) will undertake the work. A project plan is in place to support the desired timetable.

The current facility accommodates 3 full size grass pitches and one small 3G playing area. The plan is to convert the main grass pitch area – which has existing hard standing, floodlights, spectator facilities and changing room block – into a 3G playing surface.

Like many communities across the country, there remains a limited amount of playing facilities to accommodate the growth in demand for football for all ages and genders. South Park has a growing demand to facilitate football for the local Reigate community and beyond. The current demand includes 28 Junior Sides and 6 senior sides for the playing season 2021-2022.

As part of the collaboration process, South Park Football Club is calling on the community to support the funding process. Most of the funding cost will be covered by the partners of the project. Even so, there is an obligation to demonstrate the support of the local community. We are calling on all our members, family, friends, and all interested parties who care about providing a football community hub in Reigate, to donate. The value of the donation can be small, large or anything that the community can afford to show their support in the project. All donations irrespective of value will be recognised, subject to individual consent, on our wall of doners which will be permanent on our website and in our match day programmes. We will not disclose the contribution as it is the support that matters not the value.

We are launching a Local Giving page with an aim to raise up to £10,000 from the community which represents less than 2% of the actual project cost.
